CFB25 Defensive Pre-Snap Guide

There are a few things you can do on the defensive side before the ball is snapped. You do not control when the ball is snapped so these must be done in a hurry.
First, the extreme basics, you can hit up or down on the d-pad to zoom in and out. Zoom out to get a better view of the field and try to see how the offense is set up.
Hit RT (Xbox) or R2 (PS) to get a zoomed out view of the field and see the Play Art so you can remember how your defense is set up.
CFB 25 Defensive Keys Menu
Hit RB (Xbox) or R1 (PS) brings up the Defensive Keys menu.

This menu lets you use your left stick to shift your defensive setup. Pinching your line when you are anticipating a run is generally a good idea.
You can also use this menu to guess your opponents play type, pass or run. This will cause your players to instantly commit to the play either being a run play or a pass play and reacting to the snap accordingly.
This menu is also a great place to adjust to players that are running a heavy dose of option plays. You can hit X/Square to tell your defenders to anticipate the pitch and not get pulled out of the play hitting the QB post pitch.
If you are getting beating by scrambling QB play you can contain the QB in the pocket by hitting RB to tell your outside linemen to go wide and form a pocket of containment around the QB. This one is easy to implement as it is just double tapping RB/R1.
CFB 25 Coverage Adjustments
You can adjust your secondary as a unit or you can adjust an individual player in your secondary. To adjust the entire defenses coverage press Y/Triangle and you will see the following menu.

This menu allows you to adjust the pre snap look of your defense. You can use Show 2 or Show 3 to appear in a cover 2 or cover 3 shell pre snap to confuse your opponent. Giving cushion will keep WRs in front of your DBs and prevent long pass plays, however, you are more likely to give up short to medium pass completions with this setting.
If you are getting beat repeatedly by a single matchup but do not want to adjust the entire defense as a result, you can do an Individual Coverage Adjustment by hitting Y/Triangle and then A/X.

Pressing quick outs without pressing your coverage can be useful to stop players repeatedly using speed outs.
CFB 25 Zone Adjustments

You can use this menu to make adjustments to your teams zone coverage. If your opponent is running a lot of flat routes adjusting to Soft Squats can trigger interceptions or Flat Zones can completely shut down flat routes.
